Vietnamese Coffee

Vietnamese Coffee - Menu - Elizabeth Street Cafe. I agree with all of the reviews who rated them 2 or below! I am Asian- Thai and Loas to be specific, I grew up eating all types of Asian cuisine. This is NOT Vietnamese! Sure it's supposed to be a fusion between Vietnamese and French, but to be quite frank then, I wouldn't even call this food.

If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. I also grew up to always finish every grain of rice on my plate and to never waste food. I tried 4 bites of my dish and could not take another nor did I take the left overs home. So here are the details: My boyfriend and I were looking to venture out and try a new restaurant. We are HUGE foodies, if you don't know what that is, look it up.

Trung Nguyen coffees are one of the most sought-after pleasures by tourists when visiting Vietnam. These rich, multi-species, heirloom coffees are deep.

We headed to South 1st St. Elizabeth St. Cafe and Sway Thai- we decided on Elizabeth St. Cafe (not knowing we would regret it later). The initial reaction of the atmosphere is small and homey feeling..

That is until we sat down at our table. My boyfriend is 6'3" and built like a line backer, he could barely squeeze in between the gaps of the tables! Not to mention I got to sit in a lawn chair. So I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade off the menu and Scott got a Vietnamese.

Coffee to drink, we started off with the "Niman Ranch Pork Belly Steamed Buns" which were OK, if you've ever been to Phonatic or Pho Thaison on Anderson Ln. I will have to give it to Elizabeth St. Cafe though for adding more herbs and the bun was exceptional, you can tell they were fresh and made well. For our dish, we decided to share the "Elizabeth Street Fried Rice with the Crispy Fried Redfish", we were only sharing because we did want to venture and try other dishes from other places on South 1st, so we didn't want to get too full. We finished our appetizer and we waited nearly 2. Noone came to check on us as our glasses were empty, the place was so small voices were echoing, we could hear our 2 neighbors' conversation easily (and vice versa), the music was annoying and the decorations made no sense!

Vietnamese iced coffee, also known as cà phê đá or cafe da (Vietnamese: cà phê đá, literally "ice coffee") is a traditional Vietnamese coffee recipe. (click to enlarge) A Vietnamese filter is a small coffee pot. It looks like a hat and sits upon the top of a coffee cup. Inside is a chamber for coffee and.

Why are there framed pictures of flowers but then randomly a framed picture of a caveman drawn like Stan from Family Guy?! So confused. Anyway, our food FINALLY came and my lovely boyfriend served me a heaping amount of our fried rice and then served himself. We took a bite at the same time, hesitated- looked at each other and took another bite.

We did not like it AT ALL. He thought the rice tasted like Razoos (a cajun restaurant) dirty rice and I thought it was bland! Snickers more. Ugh! We were so disgusted, I mean for the price of this dish you would have thought you would have at least got a DECENT dish.

This was not even decent. We moved on and tried the fish that was stir fried into the fried rice. The fish was fried to a God knows what, but you couldn't even taste the fish itself, all we could literally taste is the oil it was fried in, 2 more bites and we were done. We asked for the check from our non attentive waitress and high tailed it out of there. That is until Scott got stuck in between the tables and I had to whip out the jaws of life to save him (sarcastic way of saying my awesome Hercules arms).

Vietnamese Coffee

We will NOT be back. Waste of money, time and we were left hungry. What a shame, Elizabeth St. Cafe what a damn shame.

Please keep in mind that I created a Yelp account just to share my experience at this restaurant. That in itself should give you an idea of how bad it was.
